Wesco produced their first boats in 1964, 2 models were built . Both were
21 ftrs, the Aurora and the Victory 21 a one design racer.

Coronado 25
Wesco introduced two 25 ft ers. The Avalon at 25 ft with an 8 ft
beam and the Coronado 25 with a 6' 4" beam. Both were centerboards with a
3' draft.

1966 saw the introduction of the Coronado 25 with a fixed keel and 8' beam
with either ob or an 8 hp ib. Draft was 3' 8", Displacement 4300lb(out
board version). I believe this is the only year that an ib was offered.
The Coronado 34 was also introduced in this year. A sloop rig with 10'
beam and a 5' draft.

1968 brought no changes in the line up that I know of. Probably due to the sale of the company to the Whittaker Corp.

1969 saw the introduction of these boats under the name of Coronado Yachts as a division of the Whittaker Corp. Whittaker had been in the boat production business since 1963 as Columbia Yachts. They produced some
other interesting marine related products such a life pods used for emergency evac. on offshore oil rigs. The Coronado's were originally produced only in the plant in Costa Mesa, CA.. Larger boats would eventually be built at the Columbia plant in either Portsmouth or Chesapeake, VA.
The Coronado 30 was introduced this year.

1970 saw major changes in the line up. The Aurora and the Victory 21 were dropped from the lineup as was the Avalon 25 and the Coronado 22.

The 23 was not offered this year and the 25 was discontinued, the company was in slow demise at this point. The fuel crunch was taking its toll on the lower end buyer.

1974 would be the last year that "Coronado Yachts" would exist. All further production of Coronado's, very limited, would be done by Columbia. It was however the year that the Coronado 45, the largest Coronado to be built, was introduced.

Columbia Yachts continued to use the Coronado nameplate in 1975. They produced the 28, 35, 41 and the 45.

1976 is the last year the Coronado nameplate was used and only the 35 was produced. Columbia yachts would continue to produce boats until the early 80's when they to ceased production.
